Place an Alibaba order manually and sync it with Modalyst

There may be situations where you prefer to place an order directly on Alibaba instead of processing it automatically through Modalyst. If the order is still open in Modalyst, you can manually connect the Alibaba order to keep your fulfillment and tracking information updated.

When a customer places an order in your store, it will automatically appear in the Orders section of your Modalyst account. Click the icon next to the product title to open the item directly on Alibaba.

Complete the purchase on Alibaba using your customer’s shipping information. Once the order has been placed, return to the Orders page in Modalyst.

Next to the Sync to Alibaba button, click the dropdown arrow and select Mark as Ordered.

A pop-up window will appear where you can enter the Alibaba Order ID. After adding the order number, the order will sync with Alibaba, allowing order updates such as Paid, Shipped, and other statuses to automatically reflect in Modalyst.

Click Update to save the changes.

If you decide to pay for the order later, please note that Alibaba may take some time to verify the payment after it is submitted.

To update the order status faster in Modalyst, you can manually click the Mark as Paid button.

Once the Alibaba order has been shipped, the supplier will provide tracking details and courier information. Modalyst automatically syncs this information with both your Modalyst account and your connected store.

If your store notifications are enabled, your customer will also automatically receive a shipping confirmation email.

As an alternative, you can manually add the courier and tracking details in the Paid section of the order. Then click Mark as Fulfilled to sync the tracking information with your store, notify your customer, and move the order to the Shipped & Fulfilled section in Modalyst.

You have now successfully placed an Alibaba order manually and synced it with your Modalyst account and store.
